Housing System

In New World: Aeternum, players can purchase up to three houses across different settlements. Each house provides Fast Travel, Trophy bonuses, and Storage expansion.

  • Tier 1 House (5,000 Gold): 1 Storage Chest
  • Tier 2 House (10,000 Gold): 2 Storage Chests
  • Tier 3 House (15,000 Gold): 3 Storage Chests
  • Tier 4 House (20,000 Gold): 4 Storage Chests

The first house purchase comes with a 10% discount. Every house requires weekly property tax payment — failure to pay disables trophy bonuses. When sold, you can refund 50% of the purchase price.

Tip: Most players choose houses in Windsward or Everfall, since the crafting stations are close together. Owning houses in different towns also grants territory standing bonuses. Always check these buffs at the local Town Hall.

Storage System

Your Storage Shed is now shared between all towns that are part of your Faction Control Network. Expanding your storage capacity depends on your house tier:

  • Each Storage Chest adds significant weight capacity.
  • Chests can be crafted via Furnishing or bought from the Trading Post.

Storage is essential for managing crafting materials, gear, and trophies efficiently.

Expedition & Mutations

Endgame content in New World: Aeternum includes:

  • Standard Expeditions
  • Mutated Expeditions
  • Seasonal Bosses (e.g., Sandworm, Medusa)
  • 3v3 Arenas and 20v20 Outpost Rush

Mutated Expeditions are harder but reward higher Gear Score items (up to 725 GS) and exclusive named drops. You must complete the normal Expedition first to unlock its Mutation version. Random Expeditions give 500 gold chests, and Mutations grant 1,000 gold chests daily. Defeating bosses rewards Runes of Holding and Heartgem Runes, which can be upgraded for unique effects. Activate them through specific NPCs in settlements.

Endgame Gear Optimization

After reaching level 65, focus on proper gear synergy:

  • Healer Build: Light Armor + Life Staff + Artifact Weapon
  • Tank Build: Heavy Armor + Sword and Shield + Taunting Perk Gems
  • DPS Build: Medium Armor + Greatsword / Spear / Musket

Teamplay Tip: Tanks pull aggro first, then Healers support, and DPS joins in after taunts are secured. Diverse weapon setups maximize total team DPS output.

Trophies

You can hang up to five trophies per house to gain global bonuses (e.g., Crafting Luck, Combat Damage, Gathering Efficiency). If you craft a 5-in-1 Trophy, it becomes account-bound and non-tradable. Trophy recipes and components can be purchased from the Trading Post or Faction Shops.

Equipment Exchange

To obtain 725 Gear Score items:

  • Exchange Pirate Doubloons at Cutlass Keys (Cursed Fountain) for random named gear.
  • Combine Doubloons + Golden Coconut for 725 GS items.
  • Open Cooling Crates (Tier 1–7) to get rare crafting materials or even max GS gear.
  • Weekly: exchange for Purple Keys → open chests in PvP zones for 500 Doubloons.
  • Golden Coconuts drop from Skull Chests in PvP regions.

Final Tip for New Players

Join large world chest groups after level 63 to farm elite zones. You’ll earn valuable crafting mats, high-tier gear, and Weapon XP. Equip a Luck Set before looting to increase rare drop chances.
