If you're playing New World: Aeternum for the first time, this guide is perfect for you. It explains everything. This includes main quests, attributes, weapons, armor, and mounts. This way, you can start off well and successfully.

Main Quests

First, you need to complete the most important quests. It shows you crafting, gathering, living in settlements, and expeditions. It serves as a course for all the essential basics up to level 65. If you get stuck on a quest, read the instructions carefully. It's often about crafting things, collecting items, or solving small puzzles.
Note: Many boss fights are the same. If you find a pattern, you can easily defeat them.

Faction Quests

From level 17, you can join a faction. This is how you can activate the PvP mode. It gives you experience bonuses and special rewards. Choose one of the factions: Marauders, Syndicate, or Covenant. Each faction has its own colors and its own equipment.

Mounts

The questline for mounts begins at level 20. Mounts depend on your riding level. If your level is higher, you are faster. It doesn't matter which animal you ride.

  • Riding gear: It makes sprinting faster or summoning slower.
  • Symbols: Castle: You can obtain riding animals through quests.
  • Wagon: Animals for riding are available from our store.

You can give your mount a name. You can feed it or do riding quests. This way, it gains experience points.

Attribute Distribution

With each level, you gain points for attributes. These attributes are strength, dexterity, intelligence, focus, and constitution. Each attribute makes certain weapons better. Strength means great ax and war hammer. Dexterity means spear, bow, and rapier. Intelligence means fire staff and ice gauntlet. Focus means life staff and Void Gauntlet. Constitution means all defenses. For 50 gold, you can change your attributes. For 50 Azoth salt, you can change your weapon points.

Weapon tips for beginners

  • Main weapon: Blunderbuss. It deals a lot of damage and is easy to use.
  • Additional weapon: Great Axe or Hatchet. The Hatchet activates the berserker mode. This mode increases life steal and movement speed. The groups that fight against each other control the Great Axe well. Pulls the opponent closer with Reap. Then deal area damage with the Blunderbuss.

Armors

Armors are divided into three different weight classes.

  • Light is under 13. It has high agility. There is 20 percent more damage or healing.
  • Medium is under 23.
  • Heavy is more than 23. It has the highest defense. The evasion distance is small.

Parts with special status, like the Featherweight Chestpiece, reduce your overall weight. This is ideal for hybrid builds.

Jewelry and Trinkets

  • Wear amulets, rings, and earrings. They give you advantages in battle or increase your damage.
  • Gems increase elemental damage. This damage matches your weapon. For example, amber increases nature damage. This applies to a life staff.

Potions and Coatings

At the Arkan station, you can prepare potions.

  • Resistance potions: They reduce the damage you take.
  • Weapon coatings: Weapon coatings deal more damage against certain types of enemies. This includes the Lost and the Corrupted. Always restock before the expeditions!

Conclusion

Use this guide to get better faster. Fight more effectively and save your resources. Do the main quests. Also use the quests from factions and the mount quests. They help you get better quickly.
