Demon Hunter (DH)
- Demon Hunters don't have many ways to reduce damage, but that makes the game easier for beginners: you just press your row of skills.
- Self-healing through life leech/absorption makes DHs harder to kill.
Vengeance Demon Hunter
- In version 11.2, community feedback says that Vengeance DH is "underdone" because many people think that DH didn't get enough attention during the patch tuning.
- It isn't a real tank class, so treating it like one will only make you angry.
Mage
Frost Mage
- Frost Mage is still one of the best specs (Tier 0) for doing damage over time.
- It got even stronger in version 11.2, making it even more powerful.
- The class does require the management of many spells and synergies, though, which can be too much for new players when it comes to skill priority and rotations.
Rogue
Assassination Rogue
- Assassination is one of the easiest games for new players to learn among Rogues.
- It's easy to be good at once you know its main combo: Garrote → Envenom → upkeep.
- Outlaw Rogue: Outlaw has more moving parts and is useful in more situations, so it takes longer to learn.
- Not the best choice for new players who want to play Rogue.
Death Knight (DK)
Frost DK
- Frost DK is much easier in 11.2. A lot of players joke that all you have to do is "press four skills and you're done."
- Even though some set effects were nerfed, it still does a lot of damage.
- People who are new to DK should start with this spec.
Blood DK and Unholy DK
- Compared to Frost, Unholy DK is harder and not as good for new players.
- Blood DK is unstable because its health goes up and down a lot, so it's not a good choice if you don't like high-risk games.
Druid
Restoration Druid
- Restoration Druid is pretty easy for new players to use. You cast healing spells and change shape if you need to.
- It is hard, though, because you have to switch all the time and manage your mana.
Guardian Druid
- Guardian Druid is the tank version. Skills are easier, and you can count on your natural tanking tools.
- But if you don't have Bear Form or certain cooldowns, you can become weak, which can be hard for beginners to deal with.
Warlock
Destruction Warlock
- Destruction is the easiest Warlock spec to understand. It has high damage spells that you can "point and click" on, and it works well with the 11.2 set synergy.
- It's a good choice for new players who want to do damage.
Warrior
- In 11.2, Warriors (both tank and DPS) are having a hard time in a lot of raids and Mythic+ settings.
- There isn't a clear preference for either Warrior tanking or DPS, which could make things very frustrating for new players.
Evoker
The Preservation Evoker can heal a lot when used correctly, but it's hard for beginners because you have to aim, move, and control the angle of your shots.
Priest
Shadow Priest
- Shadow Priest is a good choice in 11.2 because it has good sustain, high single-target damage, and good defenses for a cloth spec.
- They can stay alive with tools like Vampiric Embrace, Dispersion, and Spectral Guise (depending on their spec).
- It is easy for beginners to use, but timing is important.
Discipline Priest
- Discipline Priest (Healer / "shield-heal" hybrid) is strong in 11.2 because set bonuses make both damage and healing stronger.
- But it has a high skill floor: you need to know how to work with your team, take damage, and time your shields and heals.
Holy Priest
- Holy Priest has gotten stronger. Its Heal spells, such as Renew, Prayer of Healing, and Holy Word: Serenity, are strong and easy to use.
- Holy is weak in PvP or high-damage raid fights, though, so new players should protect themselves first.
