Lord of the Fallen isn't just about solo play—its online features unlock a whole new level of depth. Whether you're teaming up for PVE raids or facing off in intense PVP battles, the online system brings a dynamic multiplayer experience that adds plenty of excitement to your journey. Here's the lowdown on how to dive into the game's online modes and maximize your rewards.
1. Starting and Ending Online Play
Both the opening and closing of online gameplay occur at the "remains" (save points). You can even set temporary save points called "seedling remains" to quickly hop in and out of sessions.
2. Matching and Connecting with Players
If you’re aiming to help others take down a boss, simply use the matching system to find players in specific areas. You can also invite friends or set a password to make sure you connect with your squad.
3. Join or Host Rooms
Looking to team up or be a part of someone else's game? You can join other rooms or allow others to join yours. If both options pop up, you’ll be prompted to pick which side you want to connect with.
In the PVE mode, you’ll join forces with other players to progress through the game. Beating bosses rewards you with special online items that you can exchange for unique weapons, gear, and spells at faction temples.
When you enter another player's world as a companion, you won’t progress your own game, but you’ll keep any items, achievements, or currencies you earn. As a companion, you can’t enter or exit the shadow world on your own, but you'll follow the "world master."
Unlike the world master, you only get one life. If you die, you’ll be stuck as a soul until revived. The world master can revive you either by touching your soul or finding nearby remains.
You can refresh your map, restore your status, upgrade characters, and strengthen weapons while online. You can even farm elite monsters with friends to farm gear.
The PVP mode introduces two intense experiences: 1v1 combat or invading other players’ worlds. If you invade, the goal is simple—take down the world master for a unique reward.
As a world master, you have two lives, and you can summon allies to help fend off invaders. Invaders only get one life, so it’s all about strategy and teamwork to survive. Plus, if you’re invaded, your allies can respawn instantly, giving you a major advantage.
In the online world, death doesn’t always mean the end. When you die, your location and killer’s identity are uploaded to the server, and the game will randomly assign the death event to another player. They'll use their Shadow Lantern to track you down and get revenge on your behalf. But beware—your killer is stronger than usual, so come prepared for a tough fight.
Lord of the Fallen offers a thrilling online experience where cooperation, competition, and vengeance all collide. Whether you're working with others to slay bosses, defending against invaders, or tracking down your killer, the game keeps you on your toes.
