At first, The Elder Scrolls Online can seem complicated. However, with the right tips, you can quickly be successful in Tamriel. Here are important tips for people who are just starting to play.

1. Character selection & race/alliance

There are three alliances: Daggerfall Covenant, Aldmeri Dominion, and Ebonheart Pact. Your choice determines where you start and what happens at the beginning, but not what you can do overall.
Choose a race that has special abilities you like. It is not necessary to start perfectly, as the game offers a lot of freedom.
Do the tutorial and pay attention to special unlocks: you will receive your first mount at level 10 and your second weapon slot at level 15.

2. Basic Mechanics: Skills, Bars & Combat
